My Training and Experience
Whilst working in Human Resources, I started studying part-time at The Minster Centre in London (accredited by Middlesex University), and in 2010, I gained an Advanced Diploma (Ad Dip) and Masters Degree (MA) in Integrative Psychotherapy & Counselling.
I am bound by The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) code of ethics, with whom I am registered and accredited and I am also a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am fully insured and my work is regularly supervised (one to one with a fully qualified and experienced supervisor) .
Within the private healthcare sector, I am a recognised therapist with both Bupa www.bupa.co.uk and WPA, www.wpa.org.uk.
I am a fully trained and experienced Bereavement Counsellor, which means I have specific understanding of the grieving process. Before setting up privately, I worked as a Counsellor in a GP’s practice, offering short-term counselling.
Alongside and to compliment my private practice, for two years (2020-2022), I was employed to work with the Pastoral Team at North London Collegiate School for girls, as their School Counsellor, providing a counselling service to both the Junior and Senior schools, aged 5-18 years. This gave me an invaluable opportunity to gain broader experiences working with children and young people. I also worked alongside many parents, offering them fundamental support and guidance. I held educational sessions with parents during lockdown via zoom, on important topics, for example ‘Recognising and Responding to Anxiety’.
I continue to enhance my ability to work across the board, short-term as well as long-term, counselling as well as psychotherapy, therapy for self-development as well as therapy with extreme states and mental-emotional pain. My training will always continue, by means of attending regular courses, workshops and seminars. I also offer Psychotherapy to trainee Psychotherapists.
